Round 4 (photo)- module 1 – Zogaib

The first lesson I took on the provided link was the “7 tips for fashion photography and creative portraiture”. In this set of lessons there are a few things I learned that I never really thought of.

The first thing was creating a mood board. This seems like a really good source for inspiration. I think this is a cool and creative way to do something and brain storm ideas. In a mood board you can go on pintrest or whatever medium of your choice and look up themes and pin them all together for inspiration and ideas.

Our group is going to take a lot of creative portrait photos and create a really interesting and unique portfolio. It will be fun and creative to create a diverse portfolio of portraits in a non-standard basic way. We can do many activities and take candids and regular posed portraits.

The next article I read was on how to shoot portraits in the harsh daylight. This is a valuable skill as it is something I have always wanted to know how to do. The best advice that was given was just Do not do it. Unfortunately, that is not always how it will work in life. So, it was suggested to use a scrim, find a little corner of shade and also, if necessary shoot facing towards the light but only open the eyes as soon as the photo is being taken.

I actually took a portrait photo in the sunlight and only opened my eyes when it was completely necessary:

The final result I got was a very well lit photo and a nice portrait shot.
