Over the course of the semester I have built up a social media account, instagram and flip board in order to grow my knowledge on social media.
I have followed some big influencers on Instagram and have been able to start putting out some nice content and use Snapseed to edit my HDR pictures.
I have learned a lot in the process on what content is attractive and gets a good response. Using hashtags really amplifies the information and reaches a way larger audience.
The podcast I chose to do is called Diet Culture obsession and the name of the podcast is called Let’s Skip the Salad. If you click on the LINK you will be directed to this on Anchor!
For this podcast I am going to be doing a single podcast on my own. I will not be doing it as a group because I would like to interview an outside source based on the topic I want to talk about.
I am going to be talking about nutrition and the importance of a proper nutrition and preventing sickness, illness, depression and anxiety.
I will be talking about how people can eat healthy without always having to order the dreaded salad and not feel like they are missing out on life because they’re “constantly on a diet”. I will provide tips and tricks and also a guest to handle the issue at hand. We will talk about recipes and what to do when going out to eat or when your on a vacation but do not want to ruin your goals.
For the round 5 project, I decided to do a podcast again. I learned a lot of valuable information the first time around, and also learned how simple a podcast can be when the correct resources are used. I also believe that I excel in public speaking, and podcasts are a good way to highlight that skill.
I chose to read an article on how Spotify is testing out podcasts on its platform now, along with music. While Spotify is using some sort of algorithm to do this, and find podcasts based on music choice, there have been some bumps in the road, as any new platform would expect. One was actually kind of funny:
These are the sort of bumps that are to be considered when trying out something advanced like this. I really like the idea though. To be able to find podcasts that potentially relate to the content of the music is a a really great idea I think. Sometimes, there are great podcasts out there that we do not even know about!
There were the podcasts listed to subscribe and listen to, but I decided that since I already reflected on those podcasts the first time I did the podcast I would choose a different podcast that i subscribe to and find very inspirational.
The podcast I listen to is called “Pretty Big Deal” by model and women’s advocate Ashely Graham. She covers a bunch of topics and has a really great way of relating to people and being inclusive of people of all kinds.

My games for Health game is essentially a way to get a workout in, while earning points, learning about the muscles engaged and also chronic illness associated with lack of exercise.
Below are the directions, downloadable board, and cards and printable.
I made a flickr account and have uploaded a couple images so far on the account. I had to change the privacy settings that way the photos would be viewable.
The first thing was creating a mood board. This seems like a really good source for inspiration. I think this is a cool and creative way to do something and brain storm ideas. In a mood board you can go on pintrest or whatever medium of your choice and look up themes and pin them all together for inspiration and ideas.
Our group is going to take a lot of creative portrait photos and create a really interesting and unique portfolio. It will be fun and creative to create a diverse portfolio of portraits in a non-standard basic way. We can do many activities and take candids and regular posed portraits.
The next article I read was on how to shoot portraits in the harsh daylight. This is a valuable skill as it is something I have always wanted to know how to do. The best advice that was given was just Do not do it. Unfortunately, that is not always how it will work in life. So, it was suggested to use a scrim, find a little corner of shade and also, if necessary shoot facing towards the light but only open the eyes as soon as the photo is being taken.
I actually took a portrait photo in the sunlight and only opened my eyes when it was completely necessary:
The final result I got was a very well lit photo and a nice portrait shot.
Based on the reflection i did with my group we decided that doing a game that involved physical health will highlight what I will be best at designing.
The game will have a game board and each space is a different exercise with different reps. As the players move along the board there is competition involved as who can do the moves with perfect form and finish all the reps. Bonus points will be awarded to those who can name the primary muscles involved in the exercise.
When talking with Emily she thought that it would be a good idea to have it where if you can name the extra question or do more reps that you can move further along the board. This will be the competition that drives the game.
This round of projects is discussing podcasts and the importance they can bring into the listeners lives. I personally am a huge fan of podcasts. I love listening to podcasts while I run, clean or drive. I believe there is so much valuable information that can be learned from podcasts and self-improvement that can be made.
The first article I read from the podcast flip board was the picture above. Here, The author wrote about how she was able to listen to many podcasts involving body image and eating disorders to help her with her own food struggles. She mentioned how she loved these podcasts because they gave solutions, focused on how to deal with eating disorder and food embarrassment and much more. She also listed out her favorite episodes from among the podcasts.
The next thing I did was listen to one of the podcasts listed in the module. The one I chose to listen to was with Jordan Harbinger with guest Michelle Tillis Ledermen. This podcast host actually brought on a professional in the field of communication and had her speak on how to help if you are introverted or how to really excel in the strength you may already have if you are extroverted.
I thought this podcast had very clear sound quality. Both people speaking could be heard extremely well. The content covered was impactful for any people because it gave real life tips on how to communicate, what to look for in people body language and different characteristics. I believe that there were some ads in the podcast which align with the views of the podcast and help support the people making the podcasts.
Three Chatty Chicks
Outline:
For our podcast we decided to discuss the many health subscriptions that are online as well as online health supplements. This is a hot topic right now on social media as well as wellness in general.
We are talking about what we have tried, what others have tried and how they work or do not work.
We have all decided to take part in each roll. We are all doing audio and will all piece it together in our own and unique way. We will also all use our own music.
Our final podcast turned out really great in my opinion. I used the music transitions right on anchor and did the editing on there as well. I thought the entire podcast had good conversation and great content. My group worked very well together.
The game I came up with is more of a healthy coping mechanism for those dealing with depression and anxiety. As someone who tends to get down on occasion I find the best remedy is some social interaction and moving my body. Both send off positive vibes to my body and always make me feel better. Below is a rough draft of what I would want my game to be.
