Speaker # 1 Rachel Hollis

The general idea of Rachel Hollis’ speech is on the word “no” and basically said when other people tried to do the same thing she was trying to do the reason they aren’t doing it is because someone said no and they listened. She said she did not listen to the word no. When it comes to our dreams no is a detour and not a reason to stop. Reevaluate and strategize.

The quality of Rachel’s speeches are in an audience, with no background audio behind it. The intended audience of this video is mainly women I think, but also anyone who is wanting to be successful.

Rachel talks in a relatable and comedic way to people. She is not too serious as she cracks various jokes throughout the talk. She makes many jokes to engage her audience. Rachel has a very casual speech pattern and she emphasized the same point over and over to really get it into the audiences heads.

Speaker #2 Rachel Brathen

Another speech I watched was by Rachel Brathen. She is a famous Yoga Instructor with over 2 million followers. In her Ted Talk she spoke about her experience with social media and the lessons she has learned from it. Through the talk she gave the listeners her advice on how to share. She explained that when we share only the perfect moments it makes us look like perfect people and makes others feel inadequate. She challenges us to really bare our souls and passions on social media to gain people who can relate and feel they can do the same. She encourages us to do everything with love and be our genuine selves online.

The quality of this speech was great. It was a Ted Talk so there was no background noise.

There was no necessary intended audience. I think everyone could use to listen to this talk. She gave her own experiences on social media and how being real, raw and honest is what grew her platform.

Rachel talks in an empathetic and understanding tone. She talks in a relaxing and non-threatening voice. I think sometimes motivation can be found in ways other than someone just yelling at you to “not give up”. Sometimes motivation can be someone telling you to just be you and be who you are. Rachel Brathen does an amazing job at this.
